Cancellation Procedure

1. Purpose:

• This procedure regulates the process of MUGEP Business People Association members leaving membership at their own will or being removed from membership due to behaviors contrary to the principles set forth in the bylaws.

2. Resignation from Membership (Resignation)

• Each member has the right to resign from membership provided that they declare it in writing.
• The resignation letter is forwarded to the board of directors.
• The board of directors evaluates the resignation and makes a decision at its first meeting.
• With the approved resignations, the membership rights and responsibilities of the relevant member end.
• The past, if any, of the resigning members term membership dues are collected.

3. Removal from membership

• In case of detection of the following situations, the process of expulsion from membership is initiated:
• Behaving against the purposes and principles of the association, damaging the institutional reputation of the association,
• Committing actions that contradict general morality and social values ​​or that will create hatred in the public,
• Being convicted of disgraceful crimes according to the Turkish Penal Code.
• 6 months and over membership dues not paying debts,

4. Evaluation Process

• The violations in question may be brought to the agenda by the members of the board of directors or the members of the audit board.
• The board of directors evaluates the proposal for removal of membership on the agenda, and a written defense may be requested from the member.
• The board of directors convenes with full participation to decide on the removal of a member. Voting is done by secret ballot – open counting method, and for the removal decision, at least 4 members (simple majority) must say “yes” vote is required.
• The decision is final and is notified to the relevant member.

6. Privacy and Notification

• All information is managed confidentially throughout the process. The reasons for removal and voting details are not disclosed to the public or third parties in any way. The relevant member is only informed that their membership has been terminated.

7. Right to Re-Apply

• Individuals who are expelled from membership may re-apply for membership after 2 years at the earliest, if the reasons for expulsion have disappeared.
• This application is subject to the normal membership acceptance procedure.

8. Application and Flexibility:

      This procedure has been prepared to facilitate the boards of directors to make decisions on a continuous basis, and also to prevent gossip and possible resentment.

      In exceptional cases, for some steps of the procedure, the board of directors may unanimously can provide flexibility.
