Mustafakemalpaşa: A Collective Mind for Development

Mustafakemalpaşa Development Project: Shared Vision for Progress: Fair and Festival Efforts in the Concrete Stage
The Mustafakemalpaşa Development Project Business People Association (MUGEP), which continues its efforts to realize fair and festival organizations that will add lasting economic, cultural, and social value to Mustafakemalpaşa, visited the two most important institutional authorities of the district and held comprehensive consultations to move to the next stage of the process. Following the evaluations previously shared verbally, MUGEP President Vahdettin Sevim and association members visited District Governor Mehmet Okur and Mayor Şükrü Erdem in their offices. In the meetings, the common opinion was that the fair and festival goal has now gone beyond the intention stage and should be brought to fruition with concrete steps and a planned structure. During the meeting with Mayor Şükrü Erdem, a comprehensive assessment was made regarding the municipality`s institutional capacity to host these organizations, its past experiences, the mayor`s ministerial experience, the development of methods used by those organizing such events, and models adaptable to Mustafakemalpaşa. Mr. Erdem, drawing on his own administrative and managerial experience, offered guiding suggestions regarding the project, considering MUGEP`s determined pursuit of this process as "half the job done." He stated that the remaining process would be successful with proper planning and coordination. In the meeting with District Governor Mehmet Okur, it was emphasized that the progress made in line with MUGEP`s commitment to unity, cooperation, and shared wisdom since its inception was commendable. Mr. Okur highlighted the importance of establishing a more concrete framework for the fair and festival goals, stating that the district governorship was ready to provide all necessary support to the commission to be formed. During the visits, MUGEP President Vahdettin Sevim clearly expressed the association`s approach to both offices. Sevim stated that the fair and festival activities are not seen as merely events lasting a few days, but rather as a sustainable structure that will serve the development and promotion of Mustafakemalpaşa, the opening of its values to the outside world, and the development of collaborations that will add value to the district. Towards this goal, he emphasized that the most appropriate course of action is to establish a commission as soon as possible that encompasses all segments of the district, yet is efficient, balanced, and productive without weakening its functionality. During the visits, District Governor Mehmet Okur and Mayor Şükrü Erdem were presented with MUGEP plaques in recognition of their support for the development of Mustafakemalpaşa and their open approach to cooperation. The plaque presentation served as a concrete demonstration of mutual goodwill and shared goals. The visits, which saw broad participation from MUGEP members, also attracted significant attention from the local press, and the gracious hospitality of both offices ensured that the meetings took place in a sincere and constructive atmosphere. Following these contacts, MUGEP announced to the public that it will continue to resolutely follow the process to establish the Fair and Festival Commission, to concretize and schedule the work, and to implement organizations that will add value to Mustafakemalpaşa.
